Itinerary for Spotlight 3-Day Garden Route
Day 1: George – Wilderness – Knysna
Arrive in George on Day 1 of the Garden Route itinerary, where one might want to explore either at the Historic Railway Station or the beautiful Victoria Bay. Go for a hike in Wilderness National Park and do some boating on the Touws River; visit the Map of Africa Viewpoint. In the afternoon, drive to Knysna, where one will spend some time at the Waterfront and take a Panorama boat trip, to see the famous Knysna Heads. End the day with a relaxing dinner at a waterfront restaurant in Knysna.
Day 2: Knysna – Plettenberg Bay – Tsitsikamma
On Day 2, drive to Plettenberg Bay and hike the Robberg Nature Reserve-known for its stunning coastal walks and seal viewing. Follow this with a visit to Monkeyland or Birds of Eden, one of the few wildlife sanctuaries for monkeys and birds in their natural habitat. Continue to Tsitsikamma National Park, where you will be able to enjoy the view and take a nice walk at Storms River Mouth. Spend the evening at a lodge or guesthouse in Tsitsikamma.
Day 3: Tsitsikamma – Storms River – Oudtshoorn
On Day 3, start with a visit to Bloukrans Bridge in Tsitsikamma, famous for its bungee jumping; this is optional for those who like a good adrenaline fix. Then drive to Oudtshoorn (±2.5 hours) and stop at the Cango Caves, an impressive limestone cave system. During the afternoon, visit an ostrich farm in Oudtshoorn to learn about these fascinating birds. You can then return to George or continue to your next destination, completing a day filled with adventure and unique experiences.
