Itinerary for Essential 5-Day Cape Town and Cape Peninsula Adventure
Day 1: Arrival & Cape Town City Tour
Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport on Day 1, check into your hotel and spend the afternoon at vibrant V&A Waterfront. Here, you can have your lunch and shop. Visit Two Oceans Aquarium and see the marine life found in both the cold and warm waters flowing around the Cape. Enjoy dinner at one of the many excellent waterfront restaurants with Table Mountain as a stunning backdrop, setting just the right tone for a memorable trip. This day combines relaxation and exploration, allowing you to acclimate to the beautiful surroundings of Cape Town.
Day 2: Cape Peninsula Exploration
Enjoy a Cape Peninsula tour. Take the drive to Hout Bay and go on a lovely boat trip to Seal Island, with stunning coastal scenery along Chapman's Peak, in the morning. This afternoon, visit Cape Point. Take a hike to the very top of the famous Cape Point lighthouse for views before continuing to Boulders Beach to marvel at the African penguin population in their natural environment. In the evening, after all the adventure and the sightseeing of natural beauties, return back to Cape Town and unwind with dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 3: Cape Winelands Day Trip
Take a full-day tour to the Cape Winelands on Day 3. Leave this morning and head for this lovely region; visit Stellenbosch, where the quaint town can be taken in, followed by wine tasting on several estates. Then later, in the afternoon, move onto Franschhoek for wine tasting and enjoy gourmet food in beautiful settings. After a wonderful day of wine estates and wine tasting, drive back to Cape Town in the evening to unwind and enjoy a light dinner at a local restaurant or the V&A Waterfront.
Day 4: Kirstenbosch Gardens & Bo-Kaap
Start off on Day 4 with a morning visit to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens for a leisurely walk among indigenous plants and spectacular mountain views. This is followed by an afternoon walk down the vibrant streets of Bo-Kaap, which also provides the opportunity to experience its rich history and taste some local Cape Malay delicacies. Later in the day, take a leisurely walk along the beach at Camps Bay while the sun sets. Conclude your day with dinner at one of the beachfront restaurants, taking in the beautiful coastal atmosphere.
Day 5: Adventure & Departure
Spend on a beautiful drive to Signal Hill for an amazing view of Cape Town and Robben Island. Go paragliding from Lion's Head for those who get a kick out of adrenaline. Free time in the afternoon to either take a rest at the beach or explore more of the city's sights. This is an excellent opportunity to soak in the local culture and sights before your journey concludes. In the evening, get ready for your departure to the next destination or home, holding onto all the memories made.
