Requirements For a Tourist Visa in Tanzania

For foreign nationals who desire to obtain a Tanzania tourist visa for a visit they MUST meet the following requirements as explained by the Tanzania immigration department.

Ordinary (Single Entry) Tourist Visa Requirements

The following are the requirements for the ordinary (single entry) or otherwuse known as the tourist visa in Tanzania:

• Copy of the applicant’s valid passport;
• Visa application form dully filled in;
• Respective visa Fee ($50);
• Dully filled in declaration form;
• Provide flight itinerary, ticket, or tour operator package receipt
• Return ticket of the flight;
• Visa applications for minors under 18 years traveling alone or with only one parent/legal guardians should be accompanied by a notarized letter, jointly signed by parents or legal guardians approving the minor to travel, A copy of their ID

Multiple (Multiple Entry) Tourist Visa Requirements

The following are the requirements for the ordinary (single entry) or otherwuse known as the tourist visa in Tanzania:

• Copy of the applicant’s valid passport;
• Copy of the applicant’s valid passport (biographic data page);
• Respective visa Fee ($100);
• Dully filled in declaration form;
• Provide flight itinerary, ticket, or tour operator package receipt
• Return ticket of the flight;
• Visa applications for minors under 18 years traveling alone or with only one parent/legal guardians should be accompanied by a notarized letter, jointly signed by parents or legal guardians approving the minor to travel, A copy of their ID

How to Apply for a Tanzania Tourist Visa Online (e-Visa Application)

Any prospective visitor who wants to apply online for Tanzania e-Visa needs to follow the following important steps:

• Visit the Immigration Services Website (www.immigration.go.tz)
• Click “e-services” button;
• Select and click “e-Visa Application Form”;
• Upload and attach the applicant’s scanned relevant documents for the Visa;
• Then, the applicant will receive an e-mail message containing a User Identification Number (that may be used to track the application online);
• After completion of filling an online visa application form, the applicant will have to pay for a respective visa fee;
• Upon successful payment, the applicant will submit his application;
• Lastly, the applicant will receive a message of confirmation of his application being received.

How to Check Your Tourist Visa Application Status

You can track your visa application status through the website where you did your application earlier

After successfully applying, an applicant may track the progress of his application by using his ID Number, which is given during the application stage. To track the application, the applicant will go back to the Visa Application System, and then click the Visa Status button.
