Itinerary for 7 Days Tanzania Birding Safari
Day one: Arrival in Arusha
A staff member of Jaynevy Tour Company will pick you up from the Kilimanjaro International Airport. From here you will be driven to a luxurious hotel in Arusha and briefed on your forthcoming safari. Enjoy a restful night before beginning your adventure tomorrow.
Day two: Arusha National Park
After breakfast, we'll begin our journey On the remarkable Arusha National Park, a true haven for bird enthusiasts. Here, birders can look forward to encountering some of Tanzania's most vibrant and unique avian species, including the stunning turaco and the majestic silvery-cheeked hornbill. Our journey in this hidden gem of a park includes a picturesque drive to the enchanting Momella Lakes. This drive not only offers breathtaking landscapes but also provides incredible photographic opportunities that will immerse you in the natural beauty of Tanzania. As you soak in the stunning scenery, keep your binoculars and your camera at the ready because this is where your birdwatching adventure truly takes flight
Day three: Tarangire National Park
After early morning breakfast, you'll drive to Tarangire National Park, which is famous for its large herds of elephants and ancient baobab trees. The park is also home to over 500 species of birds, including the yellow-collared lovebird, the white-bellied go-away bird, and the Kori bustard. You'll spend the day birding in the park, with a break for lunch in the mid-day. Later in the evening, you'll return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day four: Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park, a birding paradise, takes center stage on this day. Thousands of flamingos, herons, and waterfowl can be observed in the alkaline lake. The park's diverse habitats, from lush forests to vast grasslands, promise a multitude of species to encounter. Evening retreat brings relaxation in comfortable accommodations.
Day five: Serengeti National Park
On five days, once you finish your breakfast, you'll drive to Serengeti National Park, which is famous for its wildebeest migration and big cats. The park is also home to over 500 species of birds, including the African hoopoe, the lilac-breasted roller, and the superb starling. You'll spend the day birding in the park, with a break for lunch in the mid-day. Later in the afternoon, you'll return to the hotel for an overnight rest and dinner.
Day six: Ngorongoro crater
Next day early morning breakfast, you'll have a chance to visit Ngorongoro Crater, which is home to over 400 species of birds. Some of the species you may see include the ostrich, the secretary bird, and the Egyptian vulture. You'll spend the day birding in the crater, with a break for lunch in the mid-day. Later in the afternoon, you'll return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day seven: Departure
On the last day of your 7-day Tanzania birding safari after early breakfast, you'll spend game viewing at Ngorongoro and at lunchtime, you will be back at Arusha hotel. After that, you will be driven back to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.
