Itinerary for 3 Days Mount Kilimanjaro Climbing
Day one: Marangu Gate-Mandata Hut
After a heavy breakfast and a comprehensive briefing. The journey begins at the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate, which is a one-hour drive from your starting point. Here, you will register for the climb and make your way to the first campsite.
As you enter the park walking through the rainforest to the Mandara, you'll find Towering above you are magnificent Eucalyptus trees, creating a serene atmosphere. Keep your eyes peeled for the colorful birdlife that thrives in this habitat, and if you're lucky, you might spot the playful Colobus monkeys swinging through the branches.

- Hiking time: it takes about 3-4 hours to Mandara
- Habitat: As you ascend through the rainforest, you will gradually transition into the mesmerizing Montane Forest habitat
Day two: Hike Mandara Hut-Horombo Hut
You leave the glades of the rainforest and follow an ascending path on the open moorlands to the Horombo encampment. Views of Mawenzi and the summit of Kibo are amazing. Look for giant lobelias and groundsels. You may begin to feel the effects of the altitude.

Day three: Hike from Horombo Return to Moshi
After breakfast, a steady descent takes us down through moorland to the Mandara Hut. Continue descending through a lush forest path to the National Park gate at Marangu. At lower elevations, it can be wet and muddy. Gaiters and trekking poles will help. Shorts and T-shirts will probably be plenty to wear (keep rain gear and warmer clothing handy). A vehicle will meet you at Marangu village to drive you back to your hotel in Moshi (about 1 hour).
